NRL22 — Precision Rimfire Rifle Competition
The Alexandria Chapter hosts monthly NRL22 (National Rifle League .22) matches — a precision rifle competition shot exclusively with .22LR rifles. NRL22 matches challenge shooters to engage targets of varying sizes at distances from close range to 100 yards, testing marksmanship fundamentals, positional shooting skills, and equipment.
Format
- Shoots Option 1 of the official monthly course of fire from nrl22.com
- Targets: 0.25 inches to 6 inches in diameter at distances from 15 to 100 yards
- Five stages with a maximum of 12 rounds per stage
- Possible bonus stages depending on time and conditions
- Courses of fire change monthly, keeping each match fresh and challenging
Schedule
- 0730 - 0830: Check-in and setup
- 0830 - 0900: Safety briefing
- 0900 - 0930: Zero confirmation (confirm your rifle's zero before the match)
- 0930: Match begins
Required Equipment
- .22LR rifle with detachable magazine
- Chamber flag (empty chamber indicator — required for safety)
- Two magazines — at least one must hold 12 or more rounds
- Ear protection
- Eye protection

- Bipod
- Sandbags or rear squeeze bag
- Spotting scope
- Shooting mat
