Archery Range

The Alexandria Chapter features an 8-lane field archery range with target distances suitable for beginners through advanced archers. The range has been recently improved with a covered archery area and tables for comfortable shooting in various weather conditions.

Archery Committee Chair: Martin Sprick

Hours

Open daily at 9:00 AM. Shooting permitted until sunset.

Target Distances

The range offers fixed target positions at the following distances:

  • 10 yards
  • 20 yards
  • 30 yards
  • 40 yards
  • 50 yards

Range Rules

  • No broadheads on chapter targets. If you wish to shoot broadheads or crossbows, you must bring your own targets.
  • All personnel must log in on the range, including observers and non-shooting guests. Sign the log at the range entrance.
  • Retrieve arrows only when all shooting has ceased and the range is clear
  • Do not shoot at wildlife, trees, or any unapproved targets
  • Report any damage to targets or range equipment to the Archery Committee Chair

A detailed archery range rules document is available (dated July 1, 2021 with addendum). Ask at the clubhouse or download from the member documents area.

Guest Policy

RSO guest vouchers can be used on the archery range to mentor new archers. This is a great way to introduce friends and family to the sport in a safe, supervised environment. Guest privileges apply to the archery range under the same conditions as the rifle/pistol range.

Facilities

  • Covered shooting area with tables — recently improved for year-round comfort
  • 8 shooting lanes with fixed target positions
